  • Tour Washington and Lee University and the Gothic/Victorian Lee Chapel and Museum, Robert E. Lee's Burial Place. Enjoy a performance at the Lenfest Performing Arts Center.
  • See the Virginia Military Institute and its VMI Cadet Museum of school history and military artifacts and the George C. Marshall Museum.
  • Attend a live play or concert at the Theater at Lime Kiln.


ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY

  • Explore the Cedar Creek Trail and walk to the Natural Bridge of Virginia, a 215 foot tall limestone arch. See over 100 life size figures at the Natural Bridge Wax Museum and take a guided tour of the Natural Bridge Caverns.
  • Tour McCormick's Farm in Steeles Tavern, home of Cyrus McCormick and the first reaper, a restored gristmill, blacksmith shop & museum.
  • Tour the historic 19th century architecture of Buena Vista.
  • Go wine tasting at a Rockbridge County Vineyard.
  • Enjoy a canoe or kayak trip on the James River Basin.
  • Embark upon the Highlands Scenic Tour, a 19-mile scenic driving tour of Rockbridge County or drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Go up to Goshen Pass to see the 1,800-foot gorge to the Maury River.
